Tanfield National School (Ref: D/X 1344/1)
On 1 January 1896, the school became Stanley Board School and was used as a mixed and infant school. On 15 August 1898 the Mixed Department of the school closed and the school became the Junior Department of West Stanley Board School. On 1 April 1913, the school became the Senior Girls' Department.
