Catalogue Description
T. Pease, Son and CompanyThe firm was established in 1808 by Thomas Pease (1786 - 1849). Thomas was apprenticed to a druggist in London and returned to Darlington as a partner of William Cudforth in a druggist and grocer's shop on High Row. He then opened his own shop on Bakehouse Hill and it developed into a wine and spirit merchants with premises in London and Leith and a whisky exporting trade in it's own blend B.O.S. The shop in Darlington closed down in September 1981, but the firm continues from premises in Barnard Castle.
