Ignacy Paderewski who was born in 1860 in Poland, was a world renowned pianist and composer. He was the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs in Poland in 1919 and represented Poland at the Paris Peace Conference. Later, during the Second World War he was the Chief of the National Council of Poland in Exile in 1939-1941, when Poland was under joint German and Soviet occupation.

Cynicus was the pseudonym of Martin Anderson, born 1854, in Leuchars, Scotland, and inventor of the comic postcard. He had a company in Tayport, Fife, Scotland, and died in 1932.
