Catalogue Description

Seaham Harbour Upper Standard Council School

School opened in November 1912 with Boys' and Girls' departments. Became Seaham Harbour Intermediate School, 1928/29. School split to form Seaham Intermediate Boys' School and Seaham Intermediate Girls' School on 1 June 1930. They were later known as Seaham Boys' Modern and Seaham Girls' Modern Schools; on 26 July 1963 they amalgamated to form Seaham Modern Mixed School. In 1972 this School became Seaham Secondary School and on 20 July 1979 this school amalgamated with Seaham, Camden Square, Secondary School and Seaham, Northlea, Comprehensive School to form Seaham Comprehensive School
