Statement by an unidentified writer, possibly a member of the Whorleton family, giving evidence of the marriage of his father and mother at Stonykeld, parish of Bowes, Yorkshire, a fortnight after St. Helen mass [18 August] 24 years previously [c. 29 August 1647] before a minister, Mark Park, and two witnesses, one named Henry Binks, the marriage not being registered 'for in that parish was there not any marriage, baptisme or buriall regestered for the space of twenty yeares even all the space of the ill times but the minister did give them a certificate'; with subscribed opinion of J. Turner that the foregoing evidence is insufficient proof of the marriage, and that proof of the father and mother living together as man and wife before the son was born and ever since is also required as evidence to the jury, 10 January 1671/2
