H/CS Chester le Street Hospital (Ref: H/CS)

It is unclear which hospital in Chester le Street generated these records, as both registers contain records of infectious and non-infectious diseases. They were found in the former general hospital.

The pages in the hospital register [H/CS 1] are headed 'Chester le Street Joint Hospital Board', but this organisation ceased to exist at the commencement of the National Health Service in 1948, the starting date in the register.
