Minute Book of various committees connected with Westoe National School. On 9 September 1814 a public meeting was held in the Town Hall when a decision was made to establish a Parochial School (see poster on inside cover) . From 18 January 1815 regular meetings of the Committee for the management of the intended school were held. Later known as the Building Committee its members selected a building contractor by public tender (for advertisement see p.11) and supervised his work. Included are letters between the Committee and various contractors and details of accounts. The volume also contains minutes of the annual meetings of the Trustees and Subscribers to the Parochial School dating from 4 March 1818, 9 September 1814 - 11 January 1868 Enclosed: Particulars of contributions for building Westoe Chapel and the Parochial School, n.d.
