Minute Book of the Managers and Trustees of the "Winterbottom South Shields Old Scullermen's Fund" (later known as the "Widows' and Old Scullermen's Fund") Shares in the Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Carlisle Railway Company were settled by Dr. Winterbottom on Robert Ingham of Westoe and Richard Shortridge of Cleadon Cottage, the income to provide annual pensions, not exceeding £5, to retired scullermen and pensions of £3, to widows of local scullermen. A copy of the original deed of settlement can be found on page 1. The terms of the charity were altered by an Order of the Charity Commission dated 23 March 1928. Included are lists of names of applicants and statements of accounts, 1857 - 1956
