Kimblesworth (CP/Ki) and Plawsworth (CP/Pl) were townships of Chester le Street parish
- part of Chester le Street Poor Law Union 1834-1930
- each township became a separate civil parish in 1866, with an elected council from 1894
- part of Chester le Street Rural Sanitary District 1875-1894
- part of Chester le Street Rural District 1894-1974
- part of Chester le Street District 1974-2009
- amalgamated to become Kimblesworth and Plawsworth Civil Parish in 1986
