Catalogue Description
The Friends of Durham County Record Office, or FODCRO., was formally constituted in the Autumn of 2001, with the aim of supporting the work of the Record Office by raising funds and providing voluntary assistance.Money raised for the Record Office has enabled the purchase of collections such as the Shafto [D/X 1658] and Pease [D/X 1667] records, as well as binding indexes and the purchase of various equipment to be used in the Record Office, including trolleys to assist in the moving and production of records.
FODCRO members have given many hours of their time to produce and check indexes, and to produce box lists.
FODCRO has also arranged talks and fundraising events.
