Copy of the opinion of Counsel in a case which was submitted to Dr. Addams in 1843. Counsel upheld the right of the Select Vestry to impose a church rate without calling a General Vestry Meeting. The outcome of this case was to have an effect on the later appeal of John Lackland in 1854
