Durham County Federation of Maternity and Child Welfare Voluntary Workers (Ref: D/X 2091)

The organisation was first started in 1919 and became Durham County Federation of Maternity and Child Welfare Voluntary Workers in February 1929.
Chester le Street Child Welfare Voluntary Committee was created under the Federation's umbrella on 24 April 1939 during its first annual meeting.
It is worth mentioning that Ms Bradford of Bradford VCs family was on the early organising committee.
