Draft of speech entitled 'I Want to be a Farmer' by John Emmerson Forster, 12 years old, representing the Woodland Young Farmers' Club, given at Teesdale young Farmers' Clubs Speaking Competition, 20 May 1944 Describes an ideal mixed farm, well located, with cattle, sheep, work horses, poultry and some arable land. [Mr Forster comments that it was only shortly afterwards that small affordable tractors were introduced and work horses disappeared]
