Born Washington 29 June 1915; occupation plater and electric welder; enlisted Washington 2 April 1931 for Territorial Army; served with The Durham Light Infantry 2 April 1931 - 26 November 1942; transferred to Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as driver, served 27 November 1942 - 13 February 1946; awarded the Military Medal serving with 11th Battalion near Meteren, May 1940; later served in Iceland with 11th Battalion; died 1991.
