Born 1879; enlisted Houghton-le-Spring; awarded the Military Medal for carrying messages under heavy fire near Lens, 19 October 1917; gained the Bar to his M.M. on 3 December 1917 during the Battle of Cambrai; discharged, 28 April 1919; died 1953, aged 74. Medals in DLI Medal Collection.
