Catalogue Description

William Winter and his wife Florence (Floss) of Sunderland moved to Thurnscoe, South Yorkshire in the early 1930s when Hickleton Main Colliery required workers. They remained until they retired, when they returned to Sunderland. They had three sons, Arthur, Paterson Fred, who all served in the Second World War; and twins George and Alec who were born in the 1930s.
Information supplied by the donor, a friend of the family.
