Certain Disquisitions and Considerations Representing to the Conscience the unlawfulnesse of the Oath, entitled, A solemn League and Covenant for the Reformation etc. As also the insufficiency of the Arguments used in the Exhortation for taking the said Covenant, published by Leonard Lichfield, Printer to the University, Oxford, 1644 The Disquisitions was largely written by John Barwick (1612-1664) who was given the rectory of Houghton-le-Spring in 1641. He became Dean of Durham and Dean of St. Paul's after the restoration of the monarchy.
