Daily newspaper (Monday to Saturday) of local and some national news, with Saturday 's edition in tabloid form; also includes a variety of supplements for classified adverts, property, business news, entertainments, schools, history of newspaper, etc., and a very occasional 2nd edition.
The Evening Gazette started as the Daily Gazette for Middlesbrough, Stockton and District in 1872. From 1881 to 1936 it was the Northeastern Daily Gazette, briefly the Northeastern Gazette, then the Evening Gazette from 1940 onwards, latterly just The Gazette. It was always produced in Middlesbrough. This Darlington Edition appears to be a short-lived attempt to find a new market in the late 1980s, possibly identical to the mother paper.
