Catalogue Description

Opened as branch of Darlington, St Paul, National School in 1873. The infants' department was established in 1876 and the rest of the school closed in 1877 to re-open as a board school in 1879. In 1894 the infants' school at Bowman Street re-opened as a boys' school while the girls and infants moved to Lowson Street.
