Catalogue Description
Darlington, Reid Street SchoolCouncil school opened in 1912 as Darlington, Greenbank School but as it was confused with Holy Trinity School in Greenbank Road it was re-named Darlington, Reid Street School in the first year. It was divided into two departments, the under and over nines. In 1921 a temporary building was built to accommodate the junior school and in 1933 this school transferred to Corporation Road, while the senior girls from Corporation Road transferred to Reid Street. In 1941 Corporation Road Junior Girls' School closed and the girls transferred back to Reid Street to the Junior Mixed and Senior Girls' Departments.
