Catalogue Description

Tudhoe Grange Board School, Boys' Department

Later Tudhoe Grange Board School, later Tudhoe Grange Council School, Boys' Department, later Spennymoor, North Road Council Boys' School

This school was also known as Mount Pleasant School, Boys' Department. The Boys' Department was amalgamated with Tudhoe Grange Board School, Girls' Department, to form a mixed school from January 1896. The mixed school was divided into boys' and girls' departments again from August 1905. The school took in the boys from Tudhoe, Upper Church Street Council Mixed School in 1944. The school was amalgamated with Spennymoor, North Road Council Girls' School from 1 September 1955 to form Spennymoor, North Road County Junior Mixed School.
