Court rolls of Court Leet and Court Baron with View of Frankpledge for the City of Durham and Borough of Framwellgate
Most court rolls include lists of names of jurors, also give names of other officers (affeerors, constables, serjeants-at-mace, bread weighers, searchers of leather and grassmen) and lists of inhabitants [call lists] with indication whether they appeared at court or not, in which case they had to give essoins. Court rolls often include presentments and estreats for various faults and trespasses against the custom of the manor.
