Kenneth Ledger (Ref: D/X 416/2/)

Kenneth Ledger was born on 24 September 1924. He attended Waldridge New School. Joined the Royal Navy in Portsmouth on 22 February 1943 as a joiner to serve as a Petty Officer Shipwright (MX714527; WR3491D) on HMS Victory and several other vessels during the war. He was released on 4 October 1943 and settled in Sacriston as a joiner and later self-employed builder, where he lived in the Miners' Institute. In 1974 he emigrated to Australia. He died in Berowra Heights, NSW, Australia in 1986
During his Navy service he visited Singapore, India and various naval bases in Asia and United Kingdom.
