Notification of nomination and election as overseer of the poor of Robert Lumley, by the inhabitants of the township of Lanchester, appointed by John Greenwell and W. Kearney, justices of the peace, at an annual salary of twenty two pounds, 3 May 1860

Order to the overseers of the township of Lanchester to pay to F.J. Laycock, treasurer, on behalf of the guardians of the poor of the Lanchester Union, one hundred and fifty pounds from the poor rates of Lanchester, 15 March 1860 On the reverse are two signed receipts, one for one hundred pounds and one for fifty pounds, 11 May and 7 June 1860

Order to the overseers of the township of Lanchester to pay to F.J. Release from (1) to (2) of a close called Whinney Leazes in Chopwell; a close called Lightnes; a close called Hissplaine; a close called the Cragghead; a close called the High pasture; a close called Bulmers Bush; all at or near Chopwell in the parish of Ryton with coal mines, seams of lead and right to wayleaves and watercourses; in trust for (1) and Anthony Suretys, son of (1); thereafter the proceeds of the closes of Whinney Leazes and Lightnes and Bulmers Bush to be paid to the Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Ryton; half of the proceeds of the closes of Cragghead and Hissplaine shall be paid to the Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Ebchester; half of the proceeds of Cragghead and Hissplaine to go to the Overseers of the Poor of the chapelry of Medomsley; the proceeds of the close of High pasture shall be paid to the Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Ovingham
