Note of a resolution passed at a meeting held at the Town Hall, South Shields, whereby the 'Gentlemen, Freeholders, Merchants and other Inhabitants of this Town, North Shields and Neighborhood', resolved to present a petition to Rowland Burdon thanking him for his service of sixteen years as member of parliament, and to set up a subscription to purchase the plate, linen and furniture at Castle Eden, and to present them to him, 2 January 1807 Includes: a copy of the petition, and signatures of subscribers
