The youth groups affiliated to the Stanley and District Youth Organisations Committee included Girl Guides, Scouts, Land Rangers, church youth clubs, Young Farmers, Boys' Brigade, boys' clubs and swimming clubs from Annfield Plain, Beamish, Burnopfield, Catchgate, Craghead, Dipton, Harelaw, Oxhill, Shield Row, South Moor, East Stanley, Stanley and Tanfield.
The County Association of Youth Organisations Committees operated in conjunction with Durham County Council's Education Department. The Assistant Youth Organiser, Mr. J. Jarman, represented the Education Department at the Stanley and District Y.O.C. meetings.
