Mary Harrison (1736-1792) was the daughter of Thomas Colpitts (c.1728-1755), land agent to George Bowes Esquire.
Mary married Swainston Harrison, who was set up in the wine business in Barnard Castle by Thomas Colpitts.
The Harrisons later established a Liverpool branch of their wine business and a descendant was Norman Harrison, second engineer on the Titanic.

Portrait of Swainston Harrison, son of Swainston and Mary Harrison, photograph of a reproduction received by Mary Harrison from London as noted in her diary on 29 September 1790 On the reverse is written 'Swainston Harrison (born 1768) Print taken by Mr John Elgood in London. Received it the 29th Sept 1790. Taken when he was 21 years old'. The sketch is possibly by Thomas Lawrence (1769-1830), who became Sir Thomas Lawrence PRA FRS, who was in the patronage of the Allnutt Family of London, wine merchants, at the same time as Swainston. The photograph of the reproduction was taken by W & D Downey, c.1900
