Catalogue Description

This collection consists of photographs used by Home Publishing Company, Ltd. (later taken over by MacMillan Martin, Ltd., which no longer required the photographs). They were used to illustrate publications about Durham, such as official guides or planning handbooks.

The dates given on some of the photographs seem to refer to the date of selection for use in a publication rather than to the date the photograph was taken.
