Trinity Methodist Church was built in 1855 at the West end The Terrace. Later, in 1905 a large Sunday School building was built alongside it (Village Hall nowadays). In 1950 it was agreed to close Trinity Church and retain the Front Street premises as the sole Methodist Church in the village. The Trinity Methodist Church was pulled down in the mid 1950's.
The Foundation Stones of the Primitive Methodist Church on Front Street were laid on Saturday the 25th August 1894. Church was completed in 1895 and replaced the Old Chapel built in 1822. After 1950 Front Street was the sole of the Methodist Church in the village. By the sale of the old Trinity Sunday School building many improvements in the church were made.
