Catalogue Description

According to the 1931 Census the population of Low Dinsdale increased to 462 and steps were taken to create a civil parish. The relevant order constituting a new parish was issued by Durham County Council on 31 October 1945, creating Low Dinsdale Parish Council, with 7 councillors. The order came into operation on 15 April 1946.

On 1 April 2016, following a Community Governance Review carried out following the Local Government Boundary Commission for England review, Low Dinsdale Parish Council ceased to exist and the parish area was transferred into Neasham Parish Council and Middleton St George Parish Council.
