Bede Day Centre (Ref: DC/SS 13-16)

Bede Day Centre was run by Durham County Council, located at Galgate, Barnard Castle. It provided a range of non-age specific services for those with a physical disability and/or sensory impairment. Its aim was to help people access a range of services in day centres and, wherever possible, within the wider community. It covered Teesdale. It closed in 2016.

Create was a Durham County Council arts and activities service run by multi-skilled professionals delivering arts, diversionary and creative activities to a wide variety of customers including Bede Day Centre. This service was part of County Durham Care, Durham County Council Social Services provider group. The Create Service records specifically relate to the work of this service at Bede Day Centre.
