Darlington Holy Trinity was created in 1843 from Darlington St. Cuthbert.

Parts of this parish became part of these parishes: Cockerton St. Mary, Darlington Pierremont, Darlington Salutation, Darlington St. Luke, Darlington St. Matthew, Darlington St. Paul.
