Thomas Witham, Alexander William Kinglake, Esq., Edward Young Western, gent., George Adolphos Western, gent., John Dickonson Holmes, gent., Ralph Dent, gent. and Ralph John Dent, gent., as trustees. Appoints lands specified in Barnard Castle upon trust as the site for the Bowes Museum and grounds. All works of art in France to be brought to England. All personal estate in France to be sold and the proceeds used to complete building the Museum in which all her art works are to be placed. Conditions of office of curator. After death of testatrix and husband museum site to be vested in the Official Trustee of Charity Lands. The contents of the museum are to be vested in: the trustees of the will, the Lord Lieutenant of the County, the M.P.s for the county division containing Barnard Castle, two appointees of the Lord Lieutenant and other residents of Barnard Castle and district to a total of eleven. Manor of operation of the Committee described. Details of the filling of vacancies on the committee and the management powers of the committee. The curator to be a male aged over 35 years and for preference single or widowed. Attendants for preference to be unmarried. Opening hours specified, 12 and 19 July 1871
