Gracie Thompson was a bridesmaid in 1947 at the wedding of G. E. Blake. The Blakes were friends of Sgt. Thompson from the Durham Light Infantry, who lived with his wife and daughter at Crow Street in Sunderland. Gracie was also present at the Golden Wedding of the Blakes in 1997.Sgt. George Thompson received the Military Medal after the First World War and his memoirs can be found in our DLI collection: D/DLI 7/700/11
