Bundles of bills, vouchers, receipts, etc. bound together, in the majority of cases, on a yearly basis.
These relate to the Chapelwardens accounts (see EP/Du.SM 53 - 57), and it seems that the bills were presented each Easter at the Annual Vestry Meeting for account and audit. Several bundles are marked with the names of the wardens for that particular year, and with the date Easter 18...
The bills cover such items of expenditure as payment of the sexton, organist, organ blower and choir, minor repairs to church effects and fabric, and cleaning, etc. The purchase of communion wafers and wine, and the laundering of surplices are also mentioned. Other purchases included foodstuffs, tea, coffee etc. and even meat, linen etc. Visitation and register fees are also included.
