The church building is situated on Imperial Avenue on a site that was donated by Major T Middleton Robinson. The building was designed by the architect Temple Moore, an Anglo-Catholic who was in the vanguard of the Gothic revival movement. The church describes itself [in 2014] as follows:
The church is a grade 2 building of brick, seating 200 and has a pipe organ. It has a lady chapel, high altar and a nave altar and is set in its own grounds. It is located in an area of Victorian housing to the north of Stockton town centre.
Worship is Eucharistic at all the main services and the parish tradition is Anglo-Catholic with vestments and incense.
