Catalogue Description
Belmont Parish CouncilBelmont Parish Council was established in 1894 under part 1 of the Local Government, 1894 (56 and 57 Victoria, c.73), from the area of Durham, St. Giles civil parish not within the boundaries of the City of Durham. The parish boundaries were extended in October 1896 by the addition of part of Pittington civil parish, and in August 1957 by the addition of part of Sherburn civil parish.
