Photocopy of baptismal and marriage entries of an unidentified Durham Independent Meeting, 15 July 1838 - 27 January 1842 Searchroom index 106 Places include: Durham City, Brancepeth, Kelloe, Shincliffe, Lanchester, Roby (Yorkshire) These entries were found in the register of Kneesworth Street Independent Meeting, Royston, Hertfordshire. In 1841 Robert Forsaith, dissenting clergyman, age 25, is living on South Road, Framwellgate with a young wife. He does not appear to be connected to Claypath Congregational chapel. The congregation there underwent a schism in May 1838 with a group leaving to meet somewhere on Framwellgate; they returned to Claypath in 1842, and Rev. Forsaith was presumably the minister to that group (see C/Du 1). Rev. Forsaith was minister at Royston from 1842 to 1858 so presumably, on going to Hertfordshire, he carried his old register with him from Durham. In 1851 he is given as Robert E. Forsaith, born London, with a second wife and 2 children. Robert Ekins Forsaith was baptised in an independent chapel in London in 1813 and died in Hackney in 1891 aged 78.
