Ralph Carr, late of the Hermitage near Hexham, Northumberland, now of Great Cumberland Street, Middlesex, clerk (4) John Andrews of Hallgarth Street, city of Durham, esq. (5) Thomas Hugall of Durham, St. Mary le Bow, gent. Counterpart release by way of mortgage by (1) and (2), by the direction of (3), to (4) of two thirds of a moiety of the manor of Newsham, and two thirds of all the following: a house and garth formerly in the occupation of Marmaduke Middleton; the northmost part or moiety of Banks Close [divided from the south part as specified]; the northmost part or moiety of Lamb Close, bordering on Banks Close, and divided from the south part by an old hedge; closes called Lowfields, the Hither Intacks, Thorney Gill, Upper Fish Garth Closes, the 2 Seymour Closes, Cuthbert Gibson's Farm, George Taylor's North Flash Myers alias Slash Myres; Water Swang and the closes thereunto belonging; the Little Fish Garth Closes; Calf Close; and the Little Flash Myres alias Slash Myres; and the eastmost part or moiety of Richardson's Farm and the house and barn thereon, formerly in the occupation of Jackson and Emmerson, all part of the manor of Newsham, to the following uses: three eighths of the property to the use of (1) subject to a proviso for redemption by (3), and five eighths to the use of (4) subject to a proviso for redemption by (3) Consideration: £1500 from (3) to (1) £2500 from (4) to (3)
