Records collected by Dr. Michael Boyd

Dr. Michael Boyd was a principal lecturer at St. Hild's College from 1967 and then Hild-Bede College until 1979. From 1979 until 1984, Dr Boyd was a Lecturer in Education in Durham University School of Education. The records include the papers collected during his research into the history of St. Hild's College for his thesis 'Teacher Training at St. Hild's College, Durham, 1858 - 1910', submitted for the degree of Master of Education in the University of Durham, 1977, and a copy of the final thesis and two later publications. The collection focuses mainly on the early 20th Century and includes many original documents and photographs as well as copies.
