Catalogue Description
John Keith Greig was born in 1931 and died in 1996. He lived at Durham Road, Wolviston. He worked together with his friend, Norman Gascoigne at ICI Billingham. In his will he bequeathed this letter to Norman's son, Paul.The letter from Clementine Churchill was given to him in recognition for collecting scrap metal. This was used to support the Soviet Army after it joined the Allied forces against Germany and Italy in 1941, two years after the joint Nazi-Soviet invasion of Poland.
