Durham in Time was a project run by the Lifelong Learning section of the Adults, Wellbeing and Health directorate, Durham County Council, between October 2007 and May 2011. One of the main aims of the Project was to preserve local history records by digitising them and making them available for the public via an online searchable database. To achieve that, the Project co-ordinated the work of many local history and community groups, societies and volunteers across County Durham. The project also provided opportunities for many individuals to develop and improve their ICT and heritage related skills.
Manuals, documentation and displays (Ref: DCC/AWH 5/1/1-5)Ref: DCC/AWH 5/1/1For ease of use, these records have been grouped by locality. However, they were compiled as the project progressed rather than being a complete copy of all images submitted to Durham in Time.
As such, there is some duplication and they often contain additional files relating to other areas or aspects of the project.
Create was a Durham County Council arts and activities service run by multi-skilled professionals delivering arts, diversionary and creative activities to a wide variety of customers including Bede Day Centre. This service was part of County Durham Care, Durham County Council Social Services provider group.
