Catalogue Description
Over two centuries of military uniform associated with The Durham Light Infantry (DLI) regiment and its predecessors are accurately recorded in this collection. There are also a few representations of the uniform of The Light Infantry regiment, into which the DLI was absorbed in 1968.The artist, Clive Gilfellon, working in the 1970s and 1980s, based his detailed illustrations on extensive research into the costume, weapons and photographs in the DLI Collection. His work was exhibited in the former DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery in the 1980s.
