James Blackburn, James Farrer, James Dundas and James Farrer Steadman for 1,000 years upon trust for the testator' s son or reputed son, John Bowes, for life, with remainder to the first and other sons of John Bowes in tail male, thence to such sons in tail, thence to the eldest and other daughters of John Bowes in tail male, thence in tail, thence to the eldes t and every other son of the testator' s brother, Thomas Bowes, for life, with many remainders over. The tenant in possession to take the name and arms of Bowes only upon pain of forfeiting interest in estate. Mr. Blackburn to have first refusal at the next vacancy of the Rectory of Romaldkirk, with the late Lady Maria Jane Price 's eldest son having second refusal etc. Birdhill House, Whickham, reserved for Lady Anna Maria Jessup during her widowhood and for her daughters until they marry.
