Miss Amy Sanders was born on 6 February 1910 in Bishop Auckland. She lived at 70 Princes Street, Bishop Auckland and, latterly, moved to 1 Kepier Villas, Durham.

Her father, Alf, worked as a cobbler for the Cooperative Wholesale Society. She was an English teacher at Bishop Auckland Girls' Grammar School. She died in approximately 1971.
