Standing Conference of Women's Organisations of Darlington and District (Ref: D/XD 98/1-5)

Darlington Standing Conference was established in 1944 to provide a common meeting ground for women's organisations and to promote interest in civic and social questions, especially those relating to women and children. It was affiliated to the Women's Group on Public Welfare which was established in 1938 to direct its constituent organisations towards problems of common interest. The secretariat was provided by the National Council of Social Service. The Darlington Conference ceased to exist in 1964.
