14 April 1779 (1) Robert Blakelock of Barnard Castle, woollen manufacturer and his wife Jane, formerly Jane Alderson daughter of Phillis Alderson; Margaret Alderson, spinster, daughter of Phillis Alderson; Robert Dobson of Barnard Castle, tanner and his wife Alice, formerly Alice Hodgson daughter of Susannah Hodgson; and Joseph Ewbank of Barnard Castle, woollen manufacturer representing Margaret Ewbank of the City of Bristol, widow, formerly Margaret Hodgson, daughter of Susannah Hodgson (2) Richard Ward of Roofby Grange, Yorkshire, gent., William Appleby of Barnard Castle, gent., George Hutton of Eastshaws, gent., and Thomas Mallam of Hartington, Yorkshire, gent. Copy Articles of Agreement by (1) to accept the division into four equal portions by (2) of the two farmholds or tenements with the lands, grounds and herediments at Streethead in the parish of Startforth, Yorkshire First: All the timber to be cut and sold and the money arising to be divided in four equal portions for (1) Secondly: (2) shall divide the property into four equal shares as follows:- One united allotment for Jane Blakelock and Margaret Alderson One single allotment for Alice Dobson One single allotment for Margaret Ewbank Then Robert Blakelock is to occupy all the property for one year at the present rent vacating the tillage land on 12 February 1780, the pasture land on 5 April 1780 and the meadow land on 12 May 1780
