Catalogue Contents
Sedgefield Workhouse, established as early as 1663, was enlarged by the new Poor Law Union in 1838, then replaced by a new building on West End in 1860; this had a separate infirmary built in 1913. The workhouse became the Ivy House Hostel in 1930.
