Records of the Wingate and District Water Company Ltd.

The Wingate and District Water Company Ltd., was, as its title suggests, a non-statutory undertaking. It was established in 1895 and was absorbed by the Sunderland and South Shields Water Company in 1959. More papers relating to it will be found in the Wilson H. Hays collection (D/WH 2/51-66). The company usually paid a dividend of 5% - 72% on its share capital.
