Catalogue Description

Moorends Empire
E. R. Hanby Holmes was secretary to the owning Company from its inception in 1929. He was replaced following the 1938 takeover. Moorends, near Thorne in the West Riding of Yorkshire, had grown rapidly following the opening of a colliery near the village by Pease and Partners Ltd.
